QE Gateshead – Bowel Cancer Awareness

About This Project

QE Gateshead asked us to provide video coverage for the opening ceremony of the new Bowel Cancer Screening Unit, featuring local sporting celebrity, Bob Moncur. They had local news on site to report on the event and wanted us to capture everything as a part of their history and something for colleagues to be proud of.

The Bowel Cancer screening test is an important one, it’s one that saves the lives of many people.  The screening hub is one of 5 across the UK and serves a population of 8.2 million people between Sheffield and Berwick. Its call centre takes enquiries and appointments daily, its in-house mailing area issues invitations for tests and results and also its lab facility is responsible for processing tests – so it’s great news that they’ve moved into larger new facilities on the QE Gateshead hospital site as part of larger re-developments taking place.

We were proud to produce a video for the hub, it was important for us not just to capture the opening ceremony on the day, conducted by local sporting legend Bob Moncur, but also to showcase their range of great new facilities supporting the screening programme. We made sure to capture a balance of both and also brought a personal touch to the end product by capturing the very moving stories of those whose lives have been saved as a result of the Bowel Cancer Screening at QE Gateshead.

With all of this great footage we were able to produce a video to commemorate the opening ceremony and also some additional short clips based highlighting the fantastic work they do, for QE Gateshead to use in future.
